Amy Stuart, BA (Hons), BEd, MFA, OCT

Amy Stuart is an experienced educator and the author of four bestselling novels. In 2024, she co-authored Hall of Fame NHL player Mats Sundin’s acclaimed memoir, Home and Away. Amy’s teaching career began in Toronto’s public high school system over twenty years ago. Amy believes wholeheartedly that clear and accessible writing is both a vital professional standard and an issue of equity and inclusion.

Amy has a Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Education from OISE/UofT. In 2012, she graduated with high distinction from her Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at UBC. She has facilitated workshops for corporate groups both small and large, and can tailor her courses and offerings according to different needs or goals. Amy is a member of Plain Language Association International, a group dedicated to promoting plain language communication in professional settings.

A lifelong hockey player, Amy is one of the only female head coaches in the Greater Toronto Hockey League, the world’s largest competitive youth hockey organization. She lives in Toronto with her husband and their three sons.
